TOUR GROUP FINISH PROCEDURE

Picture
All Tour Groups will transport through the TARGA stage in the order in which they started in and will finish in an orderly manner. Tour vehicles are PROHIBITED from overtaking on a TARGA stage.

The Tour Leader will slow down to "Walking Pace” (around 10-20kph) as they pass through the Stop Point Control with their Tour Group vehicles following on behind them. The Tour Groups passing through the Stop Point Control in this fashion serves for 2 reasons:
  1. To protect the safety of Roadside Officials.
  2. For the Finish Trackers to check the numbers of the vehicles in each Tour Group packet (including the Tour Leader and Tour Sweeps if applicable) and the total number of those vehicles in that Tour Group.
Once those packets have cleared the Finish Control area, they are to proceed down the road at least 400m past the control location if they are to stop and wait for slower vehicles in that packet to catch up with them.

If these directions are not followed by the Tour Groups, they are to be reported to the Deputy Stage Director, fill in an Incident Report form and to notify Command Centre of the incident.
