Staffing Positions
Clerk of the Course (CoC)
Oversees the operation of the Command Centre and is ultimately responsible for all decisions made within the Command Centre.
Some responsibilities of the Clerk of the Course include:
Stage Controller
Responsible to the Clerk of the Course. The fundamental duty is to disseminate information to and from the competition stages. This includes liaison with the stage team at the start of each TARGA stage regarding the following.
MIV Controller
Responsible for the overseeing of the MIV teams.
Emergency Services Representatives (Police, Fire, Ambulance)
Will oversee and fulfil the requested usage of their specific appliances as requested by the Clerk of the Course and the MIV Controller.
Chaplain
To provide any support to competitors, officials, staff, etc. that feel as though they need some support.

Clerk of the Course (CoC)

- Event planning.
- Emergency service management.
- Course set up.
- Results.
- Documents.
Stage Controller
Responsible to the Clerk of the Course. The fundamental duty is to disseminate information to and from the competition stages. This includes liaison with the stage team at the start of each TARGA stage regarding the following.
- Communications with the stage.
- Preparation of the stage for competition that is taking place.
- Monitoring the progress of the course vehicles through the stage.
- Notify the stage condition – i.e., condition yellow/blue/green/red.
- Liaise with the MIV Controller and the Stage Director that the appropriate emergency vehicles are in position ready for the stage to run.
- Receive any reports of incidents or missing vehicles and inform the Clerk of the Course and MIV Controller
- Inform the Stage Director of procedures to be put in place during incidents.
- The Stage Controller keeps an accurate log of all communication to and from the stages.
MIV Controller
Responsible for the overseeing of the MIV teams.
- Will despatch MIV crews upon requested by the Clerk of the Course.
- Will liaise with the Clerk of the Course, Stage Controller and Emergency Services representatives.
- Assist with any other duties in Command Centre when needed.
Emergency Services Representatives (Police, Fire, Ambulance)
Will oversee and fulfil the requested usage of their specific appliances as requested by the Clerk of the Course and the MIV Controller.
- Assist with any other duties in Command Centre when needed.
- Will phone in with specific stages via mobile phone to listen in on vehicle tracking throughout the entire stage.
- Will assist Stage Trackers when needed.
- Will confirm details of missing vehicles with Stage Controller.
- Assist with any other duties in Command Centre when needed.
Chaplain
To provide any support to competitors, officials, staff, etc. that feel as though they need some support.
- The voice between a hospital patient of the event and Command Centre.
- Provide any grieving counselling to those that need some instant support.
- Provide any post-event care and support to those that may need it.
